FIND YOUR PERFECT FOUNDATION

How do you want to find your perfect foundation?

SKIN ROUTINE

So, you have the right foundation for your skin type and shade, now what? The below routine steps out how to perfect your base and make it last the distance.
step 1: Prime

The saying is “not to prime is a crime” but why? The main reason for using a primer is because it helps your make up stay on longer as it creates a smooth, moist base for the foundation to hold on to. Not only that, this wonder product helps minimise the appearance of pores and imperfections, softening skin, and is lightweight, so it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. The best part about using a primer is that they work with any skin type and shade.

Tip: Less is more. Don’t overload, gently rub a small drop (about the size of a sultana) into skin for even coverage. You can use a brush, but fingers are just fine.

step 2: Cover
Wait a few minutes for your primer to set. Then dab foundation on your forehead, checks and chin, focusing more on where you really need it i.e. to cover pimples, dark circles, red t-zone and pigmentation, then blend all over, starting from the middle and working your way out. You can either use fingers, or brush, depending on the level of coverage you want and preference.

Tip: Do conceal after foundation. Use a concealer one shade lighter than your foundation, dab a small about (you can always build) and blend, blend, blend. Again you can use either a pointed brush, or fingers. Watch: to hear how to select the right foundation shade, watch Beauty Vlogger Shani’s video above.
step 3: Set
Using a powder can really help the longevity of your foundation. Dust face lightly with a powder after applying foundation to help keep foundation in place and control shine.

Tip: if you have dry skin, you may want to give this step a miss as powders draw moisture up and out of the skin. Again, less is more. Start feather light and press into the skin. You can always build more if required.
